I too enjoyed that. I love it when people aren't swayed by pre-conceived BS.
Thanks Farkel.

introduction to daniel - for fun and prophet.
when i was a dubbie, i considered reading the bible books to be a major and boring chore, mainly because i was required to believe all that stuff i was reading.
trying to make sense out of nonsense is always a frustrating chore.
I too enjoyed that. I love it when people aren't swayed by pre-conceived BS.
Thanks Farkel.

so......... it started in 1998 when we were disfellowshipped (my husband and i) for the big a word.
apostacy!
going against our baptismal question agreement.. my husband already partook inside.
Do you want to know the definition of true happiness?
HAPPINESS is... being so free, that the memorial comes and goes and you had no idea you even missed it.
I have to make a note of this day in my journal. Very significant. I think it is safe to say I have moved on with my life.
Peace to all,

when still in the watchtower, i used to be an assistant ministerial servant.
true, there is no such title but its there unofficially for those one step to being a ministerial servant.
been with it for about three years.
15 years as an elder, including a couple as an Aposta-Elder after I had my awakening.
Recently faded
I too ignore them now.
Life is very good now

....ya....I think I'm going with spinach.

i have thought long and hard about ways to silence a jw who is inquiring about your defection of their religion.. they will look at you as a fool.
someone without faith and trusting in "man alone.
" a jw is programmed to never blame "jehovah" for the works of any man, so if anyone leaves the "truth" because of something the governing body did or is doing, they look at you with pity because you have fallen into an "easily avoidable" trap, all they think you have to do is pray and rely on your creator alone and everything will turn out ok.. so, here is a transcript of something i am working on, it's a conversation with a jw about "your decision.":.
Good approach Sab,
any approach is good if it has some logic behind it.
You could say that I have some experience with this kind of thing too, and I can tell you that approaches like this DO WORK.
You may not see immediate results but the human mind is an interesting beast. It processes all the information it is exposed to on an ongoing basis. It may take months or years for the thought provoking argument to really hit home, but eventually your discussion could have a very positive effect and even lead to their awakening.
I have to say that I love the approach of Street76.
This is easy.
Ask this one question: "Do you believe the WTS is inspired and/or directed by Jehovah?"
If the answer is yes, the follow-up question is, "Then why have the WTS prophecies down through the years (1914, 1925, 1975, etc.) been so consistently wrong?"
If the answer is no, the follow-up question is, "So why would you belong to an organization you admit is not inspired and/or directed by Jehovah, and in addition, has been consistently wrong with their prophecies down through the years?"
Simple and powerful.

The Oracle
hi all, i am new to the forum and recently left the witnesses.
i was excited to see this site and enjoyed reading a lot of the posts.
it is nice to read so many of the same thoughts and feelings that i have had over the years.
Looking forward to hearing more when you are well rested.
I know what you mean about the assemblies. For someone who has had an awakening they are beyond excrutiating!
The last one I ever attended was terrible. I remember the circuit overseer going on and on, slamming higher education, and making all kinds of childish and sarcastic comments about the value of such. I could barely prevent myself from standing up and yelling "JACKASS!" at the top of my lungs and then walking out.
Ah....the memories.
The Oracle
this tripe from the june 15 tower.
how many of the witness kids "and adults" get into trouble right within the congregation.
just recently talked to an old friend still in whose witness son in law left his daughter for another and subsequently his daughter got hooked up with that ladys husband.
I like that video Mouthy!
As for people doing bad things in the wickid world.... I can assure you the congregation is full of every bad act imaginable. Trust me...I saw it all as an elder for many years - anything your average person would consider immoral or evil went on regularly among the brethren. Young people especially. I would guess that there is more disfunctional and rebellious children in the witness world than just about any other religion out there. It is really quite sad.

Do JWs still teach that the animals were in perfect harmony before the flood?
I would think it would be pretty tough to sell the masses on that one given all the carnivorous dinosaurs....but wait maybe they weren't meat eaters....how can we be so sure?
The Oracle
you may not remember, but i know you very well.
i met you a long time ago when you came to my house with your smiling faces, your neat clothes, and your soft voices, and a bible tucked neatly under your arm.
you told me many beautiful stories of a "paradise earth," and a "righteous new system" which would be established shortly.
It is an outrage isn't it.
I wish I could wave a magic wand and help you people who have been so terribly wronged by this cult.
So much suffering. And so many continue to suffer in so many different ways.
Peace to all
The Oracle
